Leadership Ethics & Culture is based on the premise that “People were not created to be managed.  People were create to be lead.”  This presentation examines the ethics of an organization’s leadership and how their ethics determine the culture of the organization.  The goal of this presentation is to shift individuals and/or organizations from a mindset of managing people to a mindset of leading people. 

The Turtle Syndrome

During the Turtle Syndrome presentation, leaders and aspiring leaders will learn about character barriers and their symptoms that hinder success potential. These character barriers function similar to the shell that covers and protects a turtle. Whereas, a turtle uses its shell as a defense mechanism, individuals use their character barriers to protect them from perceived potential disappointments and hurts. When a leader is able to help an individual remove their restrictive character barriers, they will also unlock an individual’s success potential. In many instances, individuals have allowed certain character barriers to develop and hinder their professional and personal growth. For a leader, this translates into challenges to motivating individuals they lead. As a result, a leader will have to sort through character symptoms just to get to the real character barriers.
